17th Annual Christian Writers Seminar

 with

Dave Meurer

Family humorist

The ABC's of the Writing Life

February  19-20,  2010

Dave Meurer

Dave Meurer has penned six books and uncounted magazine articles. (They are uncounted because Dave majored in Communications, which is a fancy way of saying he is bad at math.) His most recent book it titled Mistake it Like a Man; An Imperfect Guy's Guide to Romance, Kids, and Secret Service Motorcades. The Evangelical Press Association, the Irma Bombeck Writer's Workshop, and the Florida Magazine Association have all bestowed top awards on Dave for his humor writing. Leading Christian publications ranging from Focus on the Family to Marriage Partnership routinely feature Dave's work. This leads to the logical question: "Don't these people have any standards?"

Dave will speak at our major keynote sessions.

Though we target the person
       beginning the journey of
                                                       written ministry,
                                                       published writers
                                                       will also find encouragement.

Does God want you to write for publication? The basics of Christian writing may help you answer that question. This year’s instruction spans the basics of Christian writing, fiction, researching, articles, self-publishing, screenwriting, and more. Though we target the person beginning the journey of written ministry, published writers will also find encouragement.

The Christian Writers Seminar is a non-profit ministry of Redwood Chapel Community Church and will be held at Redwood Chapel's facilities: 19300 Redwood Road, Castro Valley, California in the San Francisco East Bay. If you have questions or comments contact Jon Drury at jdrury@redwoodchapel.org.

During the Seminar there will be an opportunity for those registered to have one piece of their writing read and critiqued by our instructors.
